Arriving Again
Sooner or later we will get there. We will get to the inevitable: our destination. There we have to decide - to assert our will, to walk in. To believe the truth we are here!. And set it free. Eventually, an aging bottle will become ripe. Fully matured. Ready to drink. There will be a time when it is time. It is here.
It can be hard to believe with things that have been aging for some time. We get in the habit of seeing the thing in process, in its aging state. We don’t want to open it too soon. Our respect for what it will become, in its mature state, creates a healthy fear of exposing it early. Certainly valid. But can we also open it too late!
Don’t wait too long and miss the ripe point. Plainly some things age to a certain point and then begin to disengage or disintegrate. There is a fullness of time. Don’t miss it. A ripening point. Open it up! This is the time when the fruit is at its prime moment to provide the most flavor and nourishment.
Or it becomes something else. A grape not eaten can be fermented for wine. After initial fermentation it intentionally sits for another 4-18 months. Waiting. A second ripening. It will reach a second juncture, a ripening pivot point. The perfect moment for a unique taste.
Our growth has been leading to a point just like this. Know that. It has always been leading you somewhere. Trust the process. The process itself is telling us what is coming. Listen. Like a good wine farmer, watch. Check on the grapes. Taste. They will tell you when they are ready!
Reality has a way of doing that. It tells us what we need to know. If we will but listen to it. Admit it. Own the truth. Believe it. Confess it. Then work within it to do what we hope to do. In reality, not outside it. Use the grapes you have been given. Start there.
There is more than you know. We are only seeing so little of what is there. Remember, there is a whole lot more below the surface. Under ground. Roots are much stronger than you know. They have been pruned below. Now they are ready to sprout. And sprout they will.
If we let them. Get out of our own way. Allow what is there to have its natural development. Believe. Do not doubt. Trust that what is there is enough. Even though we can not see what is under the surface. Or how deep it goes. Or how strong it is. Trust that it is enough.
It is. What we need we have. And will have. Just when we need it. That is how this works. We get what we need. When we need it. The harvest is plentiful. Rich. Deep. Look. Act. Move. This is your time. Believe. Act. Plan. Do. You got this! Nothing can stop the truth.
Let it out. Let the budding flower emerge. Let it out. Into the public. Let it be seen. Even now, before it is fully grown. A flower can not totally emerge underground. It must come out of the ground to grow into itself. It must vulnerably display its growing process to the world.
It can not start as we wish it to finish. Do not concern yourself with that. The end is not our domain. Starting technically is not either. Our domain is simply to do the small things we can. And to birth the thing in us. To let it into the universe. To let it become what it will be.
You can do this! You can make it. You can get through this birth. It is scary. Lots can go wrong. The pain is real. The intensity poignant. But holding a newborn in your hands will make all those things fade away. It will be worth it! It will. Trust the end. It trusts you.
